B&J 'Mele' Ukulele
- Description
Beautiful vintage B&J New York 'Mele' soprano/standard Ukulele with a great old label. Age unknown but my guess would be it's from the 1920s....... here's some background on the company. Buegeleisen & Jacobson was a musical instrument distributor formed in New York City in 1901. They did not manufacture their own instruments, but rather sold a full range of instruments made by various different companies so I guess it’s hard to say who actually made this little guy…. B&J ukuleles were sold under a number of brand names, including Serenader, Mele, Kent, University and S.S. Stewart. B&J ceased business in 1975.
